Here’s how to make the ultimate Zinger Burger with fries in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

For the Zinger Burger:

2 boneless chicken breasts, pounded thin

1 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional, for extra spice)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil, for frying

4 burger buns

Lettuce leaves

Sliced tomatoes

Mayonnaise or spicy mayo

For the Fries:

4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thin strips

Vegetable oil, for frying

Salt to taste

1. Marinate the Chicken:

In a bowl, mix the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results. This marinating step tenderizes the chicken and infuses it with flavor.

2. Prepare the Coating:

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. The cornstarch helps create an extra crispy coating.

3. Coat and Fry the Chicken:

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing firmly to ensure the coating sticks. Fry the chicken in the hot oil for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a wire rack to keep the coating crispy.

4. Make the Fries:

Rinse the potato strips in cold water and pat them dry with a towel. Heat the oil in a separate pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-6 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt immediately.

5. Assemble the Zinger Burgers:

Toast the burger buns lightly. Spread mayonnaise or spicy mayo on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and the crispy chicken fillet. Top with the other half of the bun.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the Zinger Burgers hot with a side of crispy fries. Enjoy your homemade fast-food experience with perfectly spiced, crunchy chicken and golden fries!
